What is better than a beautiful floral arrangement on a pretty little chair, up against a Parisian inspired piece of wallpaper? Cupcakes, that’s what! Judy Rozier, a dear friend, opened her Sweet Frosting Bakeshop this past fall and is it ever divine. When you visit you will instantly feel great. It is a light infusion of organic and lovely proportions. If you have never tried her salted caramel cupcakes, you have no idea what you are missing. I adore her choice of colors and lightheartedness. She will be adding gelato and espresso to her menu very soon. As you are walking downtown with your baby, stop by, on the corner of Washington and Sprague, and pick up a dozen of your favorites. Her wedding cakes are a masterpiece! I can smell the salted caramel from here.

A Candlelight Affair, Linzy and Jeremy

I had the pleasure of styling this small and lovely wedding at the gorgeous home of the brides Aunt and Uncle, Bob and Ann. What lovely hospitality they gave from their hearts and this was so fresh and unencumbered with the stresses of a large affair. The flowers were created by the ever so amazing Evergreen Florist, the best in the whole northwest. The cake was designed by Sweet Frosting, one layer salted caramel, and the other chocolate. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The food it was decided upon, would be light hors d’oeuvres since the ceremony would take place at 6:30pm. The food was all planned and prepared by scratch by the brides grandmother Janet. Janet you are such a loving spirit and God has truly gifted you in your heart to serve in this manner. My heart is full of joy having had been involved in this wedding and it was so sweet to give them the best that I had to give. Jeremy is stationed in the service at Fairchild Air Force Base and Linzy is working in Spokane. Here is their love day!

Romancing the Stone Styling Website Live!

I am over the moon excited to share with you my new website for Romancing the Stone Styling Event Design services. As many of you know, I have been styling for a while now and I am long overdue in getting this site up and running. There are many exciting things to share with all of you on the agenda for this year. Meg from Easy Dreamer Photography and I are working feverishly on a big project in which we are so excited to share with everyone. On April 10th, I am styling a fashion shoot at the Davenport for an amazing young talent, would be Fashionista, and her name is Kirsten Longley. Her designs blew me away and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to help her promote her work and be discovered. She will be showing her new collection on May 5th and it is a must be there event. When conceptualizing this romantic photo shoot, we wanted a gilded ballroom and two hearts that had been bitten by cupids arrow. I adore beautiful foods and fluffy clouded cakes that appear to be floating in the sky. What is more Valentine’s Day than red hearts, sugar, romantic ballrooms, gilded corbals, the color pink, ballet toe shoes, and a lacy ballroom wedding gown in full swing motion? Tulle abounds and rolls through this entire post. Valentine’s day weddings never tasted so good! Valentines Day Inspiration, All Things Pretty and Vintage!

Valentines day is just around the corner! I cannot believe that I have not posted since November. So much has happened since then, Thanksgiving, a birthday, Christmas, and New Years! Oh yes, I just became a grandma for the 6th time last week on Wednesday. Little Aiden, he weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. What a handsome little man! So excited to be a part of his life and all my other amazing grandchildren for that matter. Winter is especially sweet for us as we get to catch up on our families lives and really enjoy them to the fullest. I also want to let you know that another one of my styled shoots will be featured the week of February 6th on www.greenweddingshoes.com. Meg, from www.easydreamerphotography.com and I teamed up this summer to do an amazing bridal shoot that is to die for. I am also thrilled to feature a Valentines day shoot we just completed at the Davenport this past week. We are hoping to have it featured on a national blog around Valentines day. Grouping Together The Things I Love!

One of the things that I love most about the wedding business is the abundance of all things beautiful. I have had the greatest pleasure, over the course of my life, collecting some of my favorite things. I love china, handmade dolls, recycling old things and finding a new purpose for them. I also adore the Christmas season and all things that are beautiful that come with it. Having a big house to decorate is such a pleasure and I spend a lot of time preparing it for my family and friends. Today starts my decorating trek! I really wanted to share with you how much fun, and sense, it is to use what you have to decorate for Christmas. I also want you to see some of my most prized, handmade, collections. Using the old and the new is most inspiring! Enjoy the season.

All Fall Down!

We survived our 2011 wedding season and I must say it was the best year ever! It is such a pleasure to be doing what you love, it makes our work less work. We just returned from a mini vacation, road trip, to Zion National Park, Bryce National Park and the Grand Canyon. We also stopped in Vegas for a bronzing tan before we headed home! I must say that the 87 degree weather has got me wanting to go back. In reality and truth, I am glad to be home and let me just say I am loving this time of year. Fall is peaceful, quiet, and still. Despite the chill in the air, the colors are warming and inviting. Love that the sun is lower in the sky and shadowy. Grab a cup of cider and enjoy the warmth out your window. Until later..

Wow, every once in a while I hit the jackpot and todays post is just that! I adore working with great photographers but even more I truly swoon over working with mega-gifted photographers. Meg from www.easydreamerphotography.com is just that. My Bounty of Summer she photographed, and this french market inspired shoot we collaborated together as well. Meg and I have had a lot of fun together this summer on a few projects that we have done. Her soft, romantic style is just the fit for Belle Victorian Gardens. I have longed to find this kind of art to represent our wedding venue. Meg, you are a true talent and we are so fortunate to have you in our area to capture special events in all of our lives. This engagement session was born out of our love of color and again the richness of fall and its glorious bounty. Thanks to Stasha and Justin, you both are the sweetest young couple and I adore you! *The first 6 photos were taken by Easy Dreamer and the rest were taken by myself.

The Bounty Of Summer!

We are so blessed to have such lush summers and the fruits of it plentiful right in our backyard in the fields of GreenBluff. These beautiful fruits and berries from the earth inspired this gorgeous styled shoot in a romantic, colorful field of poppies. I love the feel of the warm sunshine on the soft pale skin of our stunning model MaKenzie and on our delicate arranged florals, fruits and berries. This was one of the most beautiful shoots I have had the pleasure of styling due in part to our fantastic photographer Meg from www.easydreamerphotography.com. Her work is some of the best I have seen and we are so fortunate to have her in our area. She photographs all occasions but does the most romantic wedding documentation I have ever seen. I also must give a big thank-you to Shasta Hankins for our make-up, Heather Blake from Fringe Salon and Boutique for our hair, Esther Ryan from Special Touch Florist for the gorgeous florals, and Judy Rozier from Frosting for the most awesome poppy cookies ever! These two certainly have definite style. They wanted a more traditional styling about their engagements as well as the 40′s theme. It just so happens that I know of an amazingly lovely poppy field. What says love and summer more than thousands of poppies all staged in one romantic field? Sierra and Bruce’s love for each other definitely shines in these playful and romantic images in this beautiful shoot. Romantic love deserves a romantic backdrop! This is their backdrop.
